Evade, Control, and Counter

Okinawa-Te and Mixed Martial Arts practitioners, Evading, Controlling is essential in a fight. These three theories of a full contact sport fighting or self defense technique, form a unit to stop an aggressive attack.

Why is evasion important? Well, that’s a simple one to answer – so you won’t get hit! But the process is useless in a fight if you can’t control and counter your opponent’s attack.

By evading an attack and then flowing into control of the situation, you become the leader of the fight. Your opponent has to adjust to ‘you’ and not the other way around.
